It comes naturally to anyone to understand the economy,

The lines represent the paths that money takes as it moves from A's to B's.

Describing the economy so simply with lines may look like Economy for Dummies, but actually it’s quite the opposite. The flow of money is why the economy exists. The most sophisticated economic theories essentially describe how a certain flow of money can be created for, presumably, the benefit of the people. The lines allow anyone to see and evaluate how the theory works in practice.
