Sometime ago I had this crazy idea: I wanted everyone to be able to understand the economy. If the economy has so much of an effect on people’s lives, I thought it would be good if they understood it. Don’t you agree?
Toto, Dorothy’s dog in The Wizard of Oz, and I, doing the same thing.
Toto pulled away the curtain and showed that the Wizard was not a fearful mystery. I pull away the veil of mystery that covers the economy and show how simple it is for everyone to understand it.
The veil of mystery in the economy is technical jargon that practically nobody understands and makes it look mysterious. The removal of the veil is replacing the words with pictures that everyone understands.
Fortunately, there is an element in the economy that lends itself perfectly to visualization: the flow of money, who gets how much and from whom. Isn't that what everyone really wants to know?

Ordinary people created the beautiful languages we all speak.
Now. ordinary people can sketch out with lines beautiful economies.
