Venezuela

This page shows how SeeTheDollars deals with the element of time, that is when a diagram evolves and changes.

Some time ago I read somewhere that before Socialism, Venezuela had a thriving economy, with plenty of money to go around. Socialism shrunk the economy and left people with less money. This was a good example of economic conditions that change with time.

For greater effect, before I illustrated that statement, I added the human element. I re-phrased the statement as: lack of money changed a young man from romantic to revolutionary, demonstrating against the miserable conditions. Then I created the two diagrams on this page to visualize that statement.

If the application SeeTheDollars was fully developed, the two diagrams would blend into one. The top one would morph into the bottom one. The image of the happy young man holding hands with his girlfriend would fade away and the image of him burning buildings would fade in. His face would remain the same. The moving dollars would change from large to small and so would the square that represents the economy. And finally, the link off the money pump would describe how economic conditions change.

Pretty amazing, isn't it?
